Roof repair in Hollywood
Leaks, cracked or slipped tile, lifted shingles, failed flashing and standing water on flat roofs, traced to the source and fixed.
Finding the leak
Fix the source, not the stain
Water rarely shows up where it gets in. It can run along the underlayment or a rafter before it stains a ceiling several feet away, so a good repair starts on the roof, tracing the path back to where the water enters.
On tile roofs the cause is often a cracked or slipped tile, mortar that has let go at a ridge or hip, or underlayment that has worn out underneath. On shingle roofs it is lifted or missing shingles and worn flashing. On flat roofs it is ponding water, open seams and failed details around drains and penetrations.
Some repairs are a few tiles. Others turn up underlayment or deck damage that a patch cannot hold for long, and when that is the case we will tell you plainly.

Signs to watch for
When a roof needs a repair
Most of these can be seen from inside the house or from the ground. There is no need to climb up.
Ceiling stains
Brown rings or bubbling paint on a ceiling, often after a heavy rain.
Cracked or slipped tile
Tiles that are broken, shifted out of line or missing, often visible from the street.
Lifted shingles
Shingles that curl, lift or blow off after a windy day.
Debris in the gutters
Shingle granules or pieces of tile collecting in the gutters or on the ground.
Standing water on a flat roof
Water that sits for days after a storm instead of draining away.
Damaged fascia
Soft, stained or chewed fascia boards along the roof edge.
Questions
Roof repair questions
Can my roof be repaired, or does it need replacing?
It depends on how widespread the damage is and on the condition of the underlayment and deck. A localized leak is usually a repair; damage across large areas, or underlayment at the end of its life, can make replacement the better use of the money. We will tell you which one we see.
Why does my roof leak only in heavy storms?
Wind-driven rain can push water under tile or shingles and past flashing that keeps out ordinary rain. Those are the spots we check first.
Do you repair tile roofs?
Yes. We repair clay and concrete tile roofs, from a few cracked tiles to the underlayment under them.
Does a roof repair in Hollywood need a permit?
It depends on how much of the roof the repair covers. The building department decides: the city’s for an address inside city limits, the county’s (Broward or Miami-Dade) for one in an unincorporated community such as Broadview Park, Ives Estates or Ojus. A new roof or a full replacement generally needs one. We tell you before the work starts whether yours does.
How much does a roof repair cost?
It depends on the cause, the type of roof and how far the damage goes. We do not quote a price before looking at the roof; call (754) 291-4149 to set up a visit.
